札幌コンサートホール Kitara

1月は釧路と帯広の2都市を訪れました。釧路では、釧路市丹頂鶴自然公園と阿寒国際ツルセンターに行きました。どちらの施設でも、ツルが自然の生息地に近い環境で自由に生活していました。ツルを見ることができて最高でした！どちらの施設も動物園に比べ、動物の福祉をより尊重していると感じました。一部の動物園では、動物が自然と切り離され、狭いスペースに閉じ込められている場合があります。私は動物を見るのは好きですが、野生で暮らしている場合に限ります。観察や娯楽のために檻に入れられている動物を見ると、悲しい気持ちの方が上回ってしまいます。
釧路の後は、帯広へ向かいました。帯広では、グリルした豚肉がご飯にのった地元グルメの豚丼を食べました。街を歩いていると、マンホールの蓋に綺麗な絵柄が付いていることに気が付きました。これまでさほど気に留めていませんでしたが、札幌に戻ると、札幌のマンホールの蓋にも手の込んだ柄が描かれていました。
1月には、新たな学びに繋がる体験の機会が何度かありました。まずは、3本の弦が付いた日本の伝統的な楽器である三味線のレッスンを受けました。チューニングの後は、撥での弾き方を学びました。それから、「さくら」の練習をしました。三味線は非常に美しい楽器で、特に三味線上部（胴掛け部分）の絹のカバーが綺麗でした。
また、嬉しいことに、Kitaraのボランティアの皆さんと一緒に書道と折り紙を体験することができました。書道では、筆と墨で漢字をなぞる練習をしました。忍耐と正確性が求められる繊細な芸術だと感じました。折り紙では、小さなツルが折れるようになりました。
1月末には、Kitaraのオルガンを見学に来たアリアンス・フランセーズの生徒をお迎えしました。そこで、オルガンの仕組みについて説明し、その幅広い音色を紹介しました。生徒の皆さんが来てくれて、とても楽しい時間になりました。

In January, I visited Kushiro and Obihiro, two towns in Hokkaido. In Kushiro, I visited the Kushiro Japanese Crane Reserve and the Akan International Crane Center, two nature reserves where cranes live free in their natural habitat. I loved seeing the cranes! I found these places much more respectful of animal welfare than some zoos, where the animals are sometimes confined to small spaces and isolated from their environment. I like to see animals, but only when they're in the wild, as I find it rather sad that they're locked up so that we can observe and enjoy them.
After Kushiro, I made my way to Obihiro, where I tasted Butadon, a very good local dish based on grilled pork served over rice. Walking around the town, I also noticed the manhole covers, which were beautifully decorated. I'd never paid much attention to them before, but back in Sapporo, I found that the manhole covers were also quite elaborate.
In January, I had the opportunity to take part in several enriching activities. Firstly, I was able to take a lesson on the Shamisen, a traditional Japanese three-stringed instrument. After tuning the instrument, I learned to strum the strings with a bachi. Then I tried playing the song "Sakura". I found this instrument very beautiful (especially the silk part that covers the Shamisen).
I was also lucky enough to take part in a calligraphy and origami workshop with Kitara volunteers. In calligraphy, I learned to trace a few kanji with a brush and ink. It's a delicate art that requires patience and precision. I managed to make a little origami crane.
At the end of the month, I welcomed students from the Alliance Francaise for a visit to the Kitara organ. I explained how the instrument works and showed them its wide range of sounds. It was a very pleasant moment in their company.
